Install

Requirements​

  • XenForo 2.3.0 or newer.

Install​

  1. Download the release archive and extract it into your installation. The src/addons/MC/SocialProfiles/ directory should sit alongside the other add-ons.
  2. Navigate to AdminCP > Add-ons and click Install next to [MC] Social Profiles. The add-on creates xf_mc_social_platform and xf_mc_social_profile.
  3. The install seeds a default catalogue of common platforms (Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Discord, Twitch, GitHub, and others). You can edit, disable, or remove any of them after install.
  4. If your board previously used the legacy ah_* custom user fields for the same platforms, the install detects them and migrates the values into the new profile table automatically.

First-run checklist​

  1. Visit AdminCP > [MC] Social Profiles > Platforms. Review the seeded platforms; disable any you do not want and reorder them via the Display order field. See platforms.
  2. Navigate to AdminCP > Groups & permissions > Permissions and grant View social profile icons and View member gamer cards to the groups that should see them. See permissions.
  3. Optionally remove branding under AdminCP > Setup > Options > [MC] Social Profiles.

Verifying the install​

  • Confirm the add-on is listed as Active at AdminCP > Add-ons.
  • Visit your own profile and check that the Social profiles entry appears under Account once you have at least one filled handle.
  • Hover any member's username on a thread; the icon strip should render in the popover for accounts that have profiles set.
