Team members

A download has one primary author plus an optional team of co-owners. Each co-owner gets a row on a permission matrix, and you tick the boxes for what they're allowed to do. The primary author always retains full control.

Where the team page lives

Open a download you own and click Manage team on the download header. The URL is /downloads/<id>/team.

Co-owners with the Manage team flag also see this link.

The matrix

The team page is a single matrix. The owner is the first row, with all flags ticked and locked. Each member is a row below. The columns are:

FlagWhat it lets the member do
EditEdit download metadata: title, tag line, description, custom fields, prefix, dependencies, cover, icon.
UploadUpload a new version.
Manage filesAdd, replace, or remove files on existing versions.
Manage versionsEdit version metadata, publish a scheduled version early, soft-delete a version.
Manage teamAdd, remove, or change flags on other co-owners. Cannot demote or remove the owner.

The matrix is wider on categories that support versioning. On non-versioning categories, Manage versions and Upload are hidden because there is nothing to act on.

Adding a member

The bottom of the team page has an Add member row. Type a username (auto-completes), tick the flags you want to grant, and click Save.

If the category has a member quota (set by an admin), the page header shows X of Y and adding past the quota is blocked.

Changing flags

Tick or untick a flag on any row and click Save at the bottom. Changes are written in one shot; you do not save row-by-row.

A change to Manage team takes effect immediately, including for the member making the change. A co-owner who unticks their own Manage team flag and saves loses access to the team page.

Removing a member

Click the trash icon on the member's row, then Save. Removed members lose all team flags on the download. They can still leave reviews or comments per their normal permissions.

What the owner always has

The primary author cannot be removed and cannot lose any flag. Transferring ownership requires a moderator with Edit any to use the Reassign author action from the moderation toolbar.

Crown badge

The download's view page shows a small crown next to the primary author's username. Co-owners are listed underneath without the crown.

Audit log

Every team change writes an audit log entry: Added {user} to team, Removed {user} from team, or Changed {user} permissions with the granted and revoked flags.

Permissions

PermissionEffect
Manage team members on own downloadsRequired to add, remove, or change team members on a download you own. Without it, the Manage team link is hidden.
Manage team on any downloadLets a moderator manage the team on any download.

A co-owner needs both their own user permission and the Manage team flag on the specific download to manage that download's team.
